Guild Magician

As a student originating in one of the less prestigious Elementary Magic Schools in the Floating Magic City of Vane, Dawson has a slightly tarnished reputation. Though rather exaggerated, it is not totally unwarranted. As rarely as it occurs, Dawson somehow managed to work his way into Guild Premier Nash's private study group immediately after graduating Elementary Magic School. Rumor has it that he has some sort of "special relationship" with the young Lalaith Ausa.

Although still officially a member of the Magic Guild, Dawson has also ventured of into his own endeavours. If you're looking for something, and having a hard time of it, Dawson is the guy to talk to. Through uncertain channels, he's able to lay his hands on anything you desire... for a price. It was through this particular knack that he met Finn.

When Finn first came to Vane, Dawson was lurking around the transmission spring. He had been waiting for a certain shipment of slightly illicit contraband to arrive when Finn popped through. He introduced himself as the "Vane Welcoming Comittee" and their friendship grew from there.

As a close friend of both Finn and his finaceé, he's perhaps the only man who knows the depth of Finn's pain. It was originally Dawson's idea to take Finn away from Vane to get his mind off of Susannah. Unfortunately, things didn't turn out as planned. During a heavy storm which beset the MSS Dragonmaster, Finn was swept overboard by a massive wave only to be rescued by a fisherman named Cobia.

The MSS Dragonmaster surivived the storm, but what about Dawson?
