Originally born in Lann, Lamont is really a man without a home. He is the only child of a traveling merchant (his mother died in labor). Because his father moved where the silver was, Lamont would never spent more than a year in one place. The repeated changes of scenery led to a pretty lonely childhood for Lamont. He didn't have many friends, as his father tended to pack up and move on by the time he made any in a given town. Before long, he became an incredibly shy teenager.

Fortunately, one of his longest single homes was in the Floating Magic City of Vane. He was there from just before his 15th birthday until almost six months after his 16th. During that year and a half, he was introduced to the world of magic. The Guild tests found he had quite a talent for air and light magicks. It was also in the City of Vane that he took up drawing and music. The culture of the guild city did some good for the shy boy.

Six years later, Lamont found himself still tagging along with his father... but as more of hired help rather than his son. Dante paid him well for his time, but Lamont's deepest desires do not include being one of his father's employees.

Lamont likes to spend his time drawing and playing his harp. He's been drawing ever since he was young, so he's gotten quite good at it. He's never really shown anyone his work; he doesn't fancy himself as good. He would like to draw more portraits, but his shy nature leaves him sketching landscapes, buildings, and such.

Much like his drawings, Lamont is well practiced with his harp. Again, he doesn't think he's any good, even though he is. There have been times he's wandered off into the woods by himself and spent entire afternoons playing. He likes the music he plays, but has no idea if anyone else actually would. The harp itself is not really valuable, but he keeps it for sentimental reasons; his father gave it to him when he was 8. It's his most treasured possession, if anything ever happened to it he might just break down and cry.

Deep down, Lamont is a very lonely young man. The only person he's been around his entire life is his father. He has no long-time friends, and has had a hard time introducing himself in social situations. He doesn't function well around others, tending to stay quiet and reserved; hardly ever stating his opinion. He goes along with whatever's decided to avoid drawing attention to himself. Easily embarrassed, especially by those of the fairer sex, he would blushes deeply if complimented. Of course, with no friends, Lamont's never really heard a compliment; especially from a girl.

His deepest, most sought after dream, is to meet the perfect woman; a beautiful, brave woman, who is forward and vocal about stating what she wants and won't back down from any challenge, but also with a soft, affectionate, and compassionate side. Lamont hasn't given up all hope, but he certainly doesn't plan on meeting the light of his life anytime soon. Deep down, he's a hopeless romantic, caught up in the idea that he'll know this woman by sight alone.

And what a sight she is. Cassandra has turned out to be exactly what Lamont desires. She's most certainly beautiful and boisterious, but she also has an appreciation for his art. Unfortunately, as much as he'd like to let her know how he feels, he finds himself paralyzed whenever he's alone with her. Still, he'd fight the devil himself to save her, even if it meant his own demise.

When will his carefully constructed shell crack?
