Roy, the son of an innkeeper in Meribia, was out fishing one day when heard a wailing nearby the docks of the city. As he closed in on the noise it became clearer; it was the sound of a baby crying. He found the source of the crying. Looking down into the water, he saw a basket floating in the water. In it was a small baby girl, clenching a solid gold pendant to her chest. Roy took the child home to his mother and father. As soon as they saw the child, they immediately fell in love with the baby. When they were unable to locate any family within the city, they decided to adopt her. They named her Salah.

When Salah was a few years old, her mother gave birth to twin boys. This was when Salah first discovered the magic within her. Her mother's strength was quickly fading while trying to bear the twins. Salah put her hand into her mother's for emotional support, but they both felt a strange sensation. Her mother finished the birth with ease. Salah at first thought the magic came from the pendant, as did the rest of her family. Later she realized that it was not the pendant that healed her mother, somehow it was herself. Not sure what would happen if she spoke up, she decided to keep this new found realization to herself.

As Salah grew older, she would often leave town to enter the forest. She would say she'd gone to pick flowers, when in actually she was practicing her skills in magic. When she was twelve, something more happened. The first day she was helping in the inn, she walked passed a man. Thinking she heard him say something, she stopped to ask him what he needed. He said he didn't say anything. As soon as she walked away, she began feeling odd. Something over came her as she started hearing things and feeling many different emotions all at once. She quickly fell unconscious.

When she awoke, she found herself in bed with her concerned family looking over her. Salah said that it must have been fatigue that caused her to faint. They believed her and said should take it easy for the rest of the day. It was at this time Salah learned that she could read the thoughts and emotions of others, even multiple people at once. She could tell when someone was lying to her, if they were a threat to her, or had evil intentions.

Salah didn't know why she could do this, and like her magical abilities she kept it a secret. Now Salah is fourteen years old. Her telepathic abilities as well as her magical talents have become dormant for over a year now. Perhaps it will take another shock to her system to bring her powers to the fore again.

Salah is a very open, upbeat girl of fourteen. She is very kind and trusting, perhaps a bit too much so. Both bright and talkative, she also likes to sing to herself, but she becomes rather shy when someone is listening to her. She is willing to do anything she can to help and she often helps out at her family's inn. The one secret she keeps to herself unless absolutely necessary is that of her magic and telepathic abilities.

She stands only 5 feet tall, with long light blonde hair. Many people think she's the most beautiful girl in all of Meribia. Some even say she may be more beautiful than Jessica del Alkirk. Though Salah will always say that she isn't, in private she can be convinced to admit it.

The shock that would restore her magical abilities has most certainly come. Not only was her family, friends, and hometown destroyed, but that of her new found friend Audrey. Now the two have an even greater bond; and that sympathetic ear just might provide the strength she needs to carry on.

With the life Salah once new stripped away from her, there is no place to go but forward. That future is somehow tied to an ages old feud between a man named Koran and the real, flesh & blood brother she never knew she had. Amidst their struggle hangs the fate of Lunar in the balance.

But how does Salah really fit into it all?...
