William, or Will, as he's most often called, is a promising young inventor; an apprentice of the
famous Myght. As a child, he stood out because of his exceptional talent in the intricacies and secrets
of machinery and complex mechanisms and enquiring mind. Both his parents, who were also good at
mechanics encouraged him from the start, and it looked as though he would have a bright future as an
engineer.
However, even in the socially advanced city of Reza, and inventor is usually misunderstood. As such,
he was dubbed "The Crazy Inventor Kid", "Loony Doctor-Boy", and "Detonation Willie", among other
less-generous terms. Will grew up as a shy boy who had trouble starting a conversation and making
friends.
Shortly after his ninth birthday, however, things changed for him. Trying out a new gardening
invention, he lost both his sense of taste and that of smell in a freak accident. It took 7 or 8 weeks
for him to recover from the various other injuries he'd suffered.
Not everything about the accident was negative, however. His parents quickly grasped the fact that
without being able to smell, the famous Myght might now accept him as an apprentice. Indeed that
happened. Soon enough he was became one of the many pupil/assistants at Myght's Tower. Will worked
harder and learned more than he could ever have imagined from Myght. He spent 7 wonderful years there,
and is now 16.
While there, he learned the secrets of Thunder Magic, which was essential in helping Myght to develop
a new kind of energy he called "electricity". He also learned Earth Magic as a by-product of some other
experiments. Through the overnight experiments and heavy equipment, learned how to wield a mace, which
has since been the weapon he uses when fighting - which isn't often.
In spite of the cloak of isolation he has worn since childhood, Will is a kind person. He isn't one
to be easily discouraged or depressed, though he tends to be a bit down when in front of food sometimes
(comes from not be able to enjoy the flavors or aromas). He's a happy, cheery-minded person, who most
often tries to use his talents to help others as well as himself, and will readily accept to help those
who are in need of more than science. His kindness is matched by his shyness, though, and prevents him
from making many friends or travelling companions.
At the moment, Will is travelling around Lunar, to learn more about the way of the world, and maybe
discover things and unearth secrets not dreamed of in Myght's Tower. Who knows what the past might hide?
He also searches, for a way in which he might recover the senses he lost in that accident so many years
ago, hoping against hope that magic might find a way barred to technology.
Or perhaps a technology beyond that even dreamed of in Myght's Tower...
